McDonald's sales in Venezuela rise by 20 percent

Venezuela's domestic sales of fast-food giant McDonald's increased by 20 percent in 2008, said Rolando Chávez, the Communication's manager of the American corporation in the Andean Region. He said that there were about 70 million transactions in the 135 branches of the fast food chain in Venezuela. Additionally, he said that between 3.8 million and 4 million clients go monthly to McDonald's branches in the domestic market. As part of the launch of the new platform "Great pleasures, small prices", the Communication's manager said that the corporation will open two new restaurants in 2009. He said that McDonald's estimates a 15 percent to 20 percent growth for the next 12 months.
