Chavez tries liquidate those that are not in full agreement with him ... the game he is playing is headed for a national disaster!

VHeadline Venezuela News reports: The Governor of the Nueva Esparta State (on the Venezuelan Caribbean island of Margarita) says that President Hugo Chavez Frias has been caught up in a vortex of desperation of his own making. Governor Morel Rodriguez says the President's paranoia that "someone is out to get him" changes on a daily basis from George W. Bush and the CIA plotting his assassination to members of the political opposition with similar plans to end his presidency.

"Chavez constant talk of 'magnicide' is clear evidence of the President's despair over the the decline of his government in the polls ahead of the November 23 elections." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assassination

Rodriguez says that President Chavez is desperate since polls from around the country bluntly tell him that his government is failing and that his governors are un-electable .... this leads to the President's usage of rude and violent language to try to make out that the governors he supports have maintained their positions and decided to solve the problems they have themselves created!"

"It seems that the President would like to engage in polemics but with the resources I have received as State Governor of Nueva Esparta, I have been able to complete 1,500 public works in 3 years and 11 months of govenrment ... we do NOT accept the (foul) language of the President ... Isla de Margarita has NOT become a brothel, as Chavez alleges ... we have promoted development that can benefit progress."
"Chavez tries to irritate, deflect from his own faults, to liquidate political sectors that are not in full agreement with him ... the game he is playing is headed for a national disaster."

Rodriguez says he reject out-of-hand Chavez' plan to set up a massive naval base on Isla de Margarita as a bastion against "alleged attacks on the United States ... Venezuela wants peace, wants democracy, and very much less of Chavez' hostile attitudes ... the Americans are not bothered with Chavez and we are NOT going to confront the Americans!"

"What we want in Margarita is to work, to move the country forward so that we all have good sources of jobs and services!"

As for the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) -- the President's unique party structure intended to united a panorama of divergent parties on the left of Venezuela's political spectrum -- Governor Rodrigues says the PSUV candidate for his job as State Governor, William Farinas is not even from Nueva Esparta and he has not done anything, ever, for the State ... "he has his own problems (allegations of corruption) with the United Social Fund ... THAT man is the worst candidate ever to be presented as candidate for Nueva Esparta ... quote simply we do not deserve to be weighted down by such an incompetent candidate."
