Chávez has not confirmed attendance to Ibero-American Summit

Fourteen Heads of State and Government have so far confirmed their attendance to the Eighteenth Ibero-American Summit to be held in San Salvador from 29 to 31 October 2009.
Among the leaders that have not confirmed their attendance to the Summit is Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez. According to Marisol Argueta, the Salvadorian Minister of Foreign Affairs, of the 22 Heads of State members of the regional forum, the Presidents of Cuba, Venezuela, Ecuador and Bolivia have not confirmed their participation, DPA reported. Among the countries that will be present in the summit include Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru and Spain, Argueta said. The Central American official said that preparations for the Ibero-American Summit have moved forward on issues such as security, accommodation and transit arrangements for the delegations.
