Lara State Governor decrees regulation of transportation, movement and exploitation of non-metallic minerals

VHeadline Venezuela News reports: According to the latest Gaceta Oficial (Official Gazette) 10.461, dated June 2, Lara State Governor Luis Reyes has decreed the regulation of transportation, movement and exploitation of non-metallic minerals and authorized Lara State Tax Authority executive Claudia Carrillo Avellan to "enact measures to control the use of non-metallic minerals in Lara state and thus avoid illegal operations and transport as well as their indiscriminate use."

Under the new regulations non-metallic minerals may only be transported, moved and otherwise exploited between the hours of 6:00am and 6:00pm Monday thru Thursday and from 6:00am to 4:00pm on Fridays excluding Saturdays and Sundays as well as state and national holidays.

Under Article 8 of Decree 10.461, exceptions may be made for public convenience outside of the specified times or when a state of alarm or emergency has been decreed by the regional executive, "otherwise failure to comply will lead to sanctions under the Tax Code and.or other applicable legal standards."
